In Odisha’s Jajpur district, a tragic incident unfolded at Surya Narayan Nodal Upper Primary School, where a fourth-grade student, Rudra Narayan Sethy, lost his life after allegedly being forced to do sit-ups by a teacher. The ten-year-old collapsed during the punishment and was rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, where he was declared brought dead. Authorities, including Rasulpur block education officer Nilambar Mishra, have not yet received a formal complaint but assure that an investigation will be initiated upon its submission. The Rasulpur assistant block education officer has already started an inquiry into the incident.
