A 25-year-old man, K Ganesh Patra, was arrested in Odisha’s Ganjam district for allegedly killing his wife and two-year-old daughter by releasing a cobra into their room. The incident occurred over a month and a half ago in Adheigaon village. Ganesh, facing marital disputes, procured the snake from a charmer, falsely claiming religious intent. On October 6, he released the snake into the room where his family slept. The wife and daughter were found dead with snake bites the next morning. Initially treated as unnatural deaths, an FIR by the father-in-law led to the murder accusation, and Ganesh confessed during interrogation.
